My art acts as both a mirror and a window - reflecting personal experiences while also alowing for shared understanding.
I hope that viewers find comfort, empowerment and a sense of belonging.
The knowledge that someone has been in the same emotional place is profoundly impactful.
Born in Northern Ireland, I moved to Scotland to finish studying my Architecture degree at the Edinburgh College of Art.
My creativity took a back seat for a number of years - but eventually I realised that it just cannot be ignored. I started painting focusing on the animals I had on our small holding in Aberdeenshire.
We moved to Dumfries and I established my own studio. having more time and space. I studied to become a creative coach and this enabled me to delve into the direction my art needed to take.
Art is very much a mental health balm for me.
I was extremely fortunate to come across ClayWorks Studios where I developed a love of Sculpture work as another medium for expression.
Art acts as my therapeutic outlet, enabling me to comprehend and address my internal struggles. The journey has brought a sense of ballance to my life, resulting in both positive and negatice days, which is evident in my work.
My work reflects strong emotions.
I hope my pieces resonate with you!
